Everything I do has a meaning and a statement that I hope is conveyed through my work. I am trying to bring injustice to light. Things that are not right. So yes, Iā€™m a social justice artist. More now than ever.
— Tim Davis

Tim Davis is widely recognized for his mixed media material use of exploring different narratives with graphite, sculpture materials, acrylic, photography, pen and ink, and collage.  My focus has been to utilize themes that represent interactions of relationships between stylized figures, mysterious portraits and unconventional environments. His narratives are designed so the viewer becomes part of the visual conversation or dialogue presented. His concern has always been the human experience and the black experience. There are stigmas and communications that consume our thoughts and actions through our lives that we continue to question our true self. One thought continually thrives to be true to self, culture, race, and identity. The second thought continues to wonder about being accepted, judged, misinterpreted or even discriminated against.

Davis was born in Chicago Illinois and resides in Washington DC. He received his Masters of Art degree from the University of Illinois, where he studied with artists Frank Gallo and Bill Carlson. His work has been exhibited throughout the United Sates, including Washington DC, Chicago, Miami and New York. He has many paintings in private and corporate collections including Freddie Mac Corporation, Stellar Communications, University of Maryland University College, University of Illinois Cultural Center and The Diane Whitfield- Locke collection. He is the founder and owner of International Visions Gallery and consultants where he promotes and provides contemporary multi-cultural original works to museums, private collectors, and art enthusiasts by national and international artists. He is committed to encourage cross-cultural exchange with diverse collections of artists from the Washington area and under-represented parts of the world.
